2022 NBA Draft: Keegan Murray Becomes The Highest-Drafted Lowa Player
Ney York, June 23, 2022: For the first time ever, Murray is the highest-drafted Iowa player!

The Kings selected Keegan Murray out of Iowa with the No. 4 overall pick in the draft. At 4th overall, Keegan Murray is the highest-drafted Iowa player in the Common Draft era (since 1966). Murray’s 822 points in 2021-22 are the 7th-most in a season in Big Ten history and the most in a season in Iowa program history.

As a freshman, he averaged 7.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, earning Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors. Murray was a tremendous player this season -- the second-best college basketball player in the country.

Back in the time, Murray played basketball for Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a senior he averaged 20.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and was named Metro Player of the Year. Murray spent a postgraduate year at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida to gain more exposure.

He averaged 22.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, earning most outstanding player honors at the National Prep School Invitational. A three-star recruit, he committed to playing college basketball for Iowa.
