On March 30, 2020, AEW announced a new title, the AEW TNT Championship, with the inaugural champion to be determined by an eight-man, single-elimination tournament. The tournament began on the April 8 episode of Dynamite and ended with Cody Rhodes Vs. Lance Archer for the tournament final. Cody and Lance Archer defeated Darby Allin and Dustin Rhodes to entre the final.

Earlier, n the May 6 episode of Dynamite AEW World Champion Jon Moxley collided with Frankie Kazarian in non-title action. He defeated Frankie Kazarian within an easy stack with the paradigm shift to win the match but after what we witnessed could be the dazzling change in AEW. Almost seven Dark Order followers attacked the champion and stomped him down. Brodie Lee would then come to lay down the challenge

Plush, A Casino Ladder match for a future AEW World Championship match and MJF vs. Jungle Boy will also air live on the same night.
