AEW Double or Nothing 2021 is scheduled to take place on May 30, 2021, at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. The event was incipiently scheduled to take place on May 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on the Las Vegas Strip but the plane got canceled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

AEW officially confirmed a total of ten matches for the Double or Nothing PPV, five out of which will be championship matches. The AEW World Champion Kenny Omega put the championship on the line against Orange Cassidy and Pac in a triple threat match. Hikaru Shida to face Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D to defend her AEW Women's World Championship. Sting team up with Darby Allin to face Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page in a tag team match.

A Stadium Stampede Match is also taking place between The Pinnacle (MJF, Wardlow, Cash Wheeler, Shawn Spears, and Dax Harwood) (with Tully Blanchard) vs. The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Santana, Sammy Guevara, and Ortiz). Jon Moxley team up with Eddie Kingston to challenge the AEW World Tag Team Champion The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) for the championship match. AEW TNT Champion Miro to defend the title against Lance Archer in a championship match.

A Casino Battle Royale Match is also confirmed for the event between Dustin Rhodes, Matt Sydal, Jungle Boy, Evil Uno, Colt Cabana, Preston Vance, Matt Hardy, Christian Cage, Powerhouse Hobbs, QT Marshall, Marq Quen, Isiah Kassidy, Penta El Zero Miedo, Griff Garrison, Brian Pillman Jr, Nick Comoroto, Max Caster, The Blade, Anthony Bowens, and Lee Johnson. The winner of this match will get a chance for the future AEW World Championship Match. Cody Rhodes vs. Anthony Ogogo and Hangman Adam Page vs. Brian Cage is also added for the event.
