UFC 250 event was expected to take place in São Paulo, Brazil on May 9, now will be renamed UFC 249 and mark the promotion's return after the first wave of cancellations. In the main event, Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson was planned to take place but on March 30 Khabib Nurmagomedov slated that he was in Dagestan and could be ventured by travel bans related to the pandemic.
Khabib Nurmagomedov stated on April 1 that he would unlike be competing at the event due to those restrictions which forced him to stay home. Now he has officially pulled out of the event. Justin Gaethje has taken the replacement.
