UFC Bantamweight Contender Marlon Moraes Tests Positive For The Coronavirus
The news was first displayed by ESPN Brazil that Marlon Moraes has recently been diagnosed with COVID-19.
According to ESPN Brazil Both he and his wife tested positive for the coronavirus, but the couple's two children were not infected. Moraes stated he started to feel symptoms about 10 days ago.
"Unfortunately, I got the virus -- me and my wife. We were very weak, the symptoms were very strong on us. Thank God I didn't need to go to the hospital, but I had to take my wife to the hospital," Moraes told ESPN Brazil. "We spent a day at the hospital. She was treated by them, she took some medicines, then she stayed under observation", Marlon Moraes told to ESPN.
As of September 23, 2019, he is #1 in the UFC bantamweight rankings. Moraes faced Henry Cejudo on June 8, 2019, at UFC 238 for the vacant UFC Bantamweight Championship. He lost the fight via technical knockout in round three. Moraes faced former UFC Featherweight Champion José Aldo at UFC 245 on December 14, 2019. He won the fight via split decision.
