WWE Backlash 2020 Results June 14, 2020: Full Results, Coverage, Recap, Winners
WWE Backlash was planned to live from Kansas City. Due to Covid-19 WWE placed the event to WWE Performance Center taking all the necessary steps. It will be the fifteenth event in the Backlash chronology and the first Backlash since 2018.
In the main event of the night, Drew McIntyre defends the WWE Title against The Almighty Bobby Lashley, Edge Vs. Randy Orton in a Greatest Wrestling match Evere also looks to grab the massive attendance of interest. WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman puts his title on the line against the Duo Miz & Morrison in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Asuka defends Raw Women's Title against Nia Jax.
In the other preeminent matches, Apollo Crews(c) faces off Andrade in a US title defense. Women's Tag-Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks stake their titles against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and The IIconics in a Triple Threat Tag-Team Championship match. Jeff Hardy takes on Sheamus.

Apollo Crews(c) Vs. Andrade(with Zalina Vega and Angel Garza)
Apollo Crews is still you US Champion. However, he got the little big distraction in the match from Angel Garza but was later handled by Kevin Owens to let Crews win the match. Crews followed the standing moonsault and another for a pin attempt but Garza reflected on the apron to make the distraction. Owens walked down and pulled him off the floor. Owens followed up with a big Stunner to Garza. Crews went back to Andrade and hit the sitdown powerbomb for the pin to retain.
Winner : Apollo Crews(c), victory followed by pinfall
Zalina Vega looked furious after what went through all way to the championship match. While, Crews stood tall into the ring, he was joined by Kevin Owens in the ring for the celebration. Apollo Crews raised the title brag about it. Zalina Vega, Andrade and Angel followed the way out of the ring.
Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy were hyped next, Sheamus also showed up in the pre-recorded promo. He had some words for Jeff Hardy ahead of their matchup.
Stanford and Rosenberg talked about tonight's Triple Threat Tag-Team Match Between Bayley & Sasha Bank(c) Vs. The IIconics Vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.
Tag-Team Triple Threat Match For Women's Titles
Bayley & Sasha Bank(c) Vs. The IIconics Vs. ALexa Bliss & Nikki Cross
We went into the ring with Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss into the ring. They entered the ring. The IIconics were next to follow the ring as Alexa Bliss and Nikki stared them up. Bayley and Sasha Banks were backstage to talk about their matchup. Sasha Banks joined the ring stage, followed by the entrance from Bayley.
We went to the ring as both the teams stared at the champions, Bayley went to hype their titles bragging near to Cole. The Referee made the match official. The bail rang and Billy Kay, Nikki Cross and Bayley started the things off, Kay and Bayley took the shots on Nikki Cross as the teams, they dropped Nikki on the apron, Bayley now took on Kay and sent her out, Bayley followed the tag with Sasha Bank, she took on Nikki Cross near to the ring rope where Nikki got the tag from Alexa Bliss, Now Sasha Bank, Royce and Alexa joined the ring, Royce with a roll-up but Bliss saved it.
ALl the competitors entred the ring and had the brawling at the middle of the ring. Bayley came out, but referee blocked considering it an illegal, Bayley made the tag with Sasha and now entered the ring. Key joined the ring, Bayley and Key faced off, Bayley caught key though her stomach and we saw Sasha Banks having a Knee Strick right to the face of Key, Bayley went for the cover but Nikki walked into the ring to block the cover, Nikki let Alexa back into the ring with a tag, Royce also made the way back into the ring, Bayley was too quick to make the tag with Sasha, Royce with knee attack while, Sasha and Bliss stood at the apron.
Bliss forged her way into the ring to take on Royce. Alexa Bliss went on the top of the ring and had the Twist of Bliss for the cover but Sasha Banks with roll-up from behind to win the match.
Winner : Bayley & Sasha Bank(c), victory followed by pinfall
We went to the WWE parking lot as the monster among man Braun Strowman entered the WWE Performance with his car.
Back into the ring Cole and Cory talked about Jeff Hardy and Sheamus match up next, Cole stated that what if Jeff losses tonight, We went for the video package from what we have witnessed all through the way.
WWE has presented the new logo for WWE Extrem Rules that will grab our attention on July 19, 2020.
Singles Match
Jeff Hardy Vs. Sheamus
We went back into the ring as Jeff Hardy made his way up to the ring, he joined the ring and waited for Sheamus to come in. Sheamus also followed the way to the ring. Sheamus looked furious as he entered the ring. The bail rang and Jeff clapped for the hype, they met up, Sheamus took him down for the grip and took him into the turnbuckle trying to off the balance, Sheamus Chef shots to Jeff and had some trash-talking, Sheamus with a shot to take down Jeff, he swags jeff to the ring, but Jeff instead with knee attack to take down Sheamus, now Jeff started to have the savage on Sheamus, Jeff took Sheamus near to the ring rope as Sheamus hung on it.
Sheamus got furious and landed some shots, now, Sheamus took on Jeff Hardy but that went for a while as he sent Sheamus out of the ring, he followed him and launched flying move on Sheamus, he made Sheamus back into the ring, Jeff with steel stairs but dropped it on the call of crowds. He entered the ring where Sheamus dropped him onto the turnbuckle, Sheamus with a Drop, and went for the cover but kicked out at two.
Sheamus with humiliations on Jeff as he swung at the ring rope, Sheamus with Neckbreaker and went for the cover but kicked out at, Jeff tried to hype up but soon got he knee kick to take him down, Sheamus was taking the offense on COle and Corey.
Jeff tried to fight back up into the match but Sheamus with another drop to take down Jeff, he went on the top of the ring to lauch the move, Jeff ducked the move and had his own jump from the top of the ring post, Jeff Hardy with his move and went for the cover but Sheamus kicked out, Sheamus with a quick roll-up, Jeff made it failed and followed the Slingblad, Jeff on the top rope but Sheamus capitalized Jeff, they had a brawl at the top, Hardy dropped and had a jump from there but Sheamus would duck to make the save, Sheamus with Backbreaker for the cover, 1, 2...kicked out.
Sheamus learned that Jeff had an injured knee and he started to make the offense on it. Sheamus with submission move, Jeff somehow touched the bottom rope to break the submission, Sheamus had some shots as Jeff laid down on the apron.
Sheamus with chop shots on Jeff's chest, Sheamus took Jeff on his shoulders trying to send him into the turnbuckle but this time Jeff would send him into the turnbuckle, Jeff atop and launched for the move, Jeff with the cover, 1, 2, Sheamus laid his leg on the middle rope to break the cover, Jeff Hardy sent him out of the ring, Jeff went for the high risk walking upon the top of the apron, but Sheamus would have Brogue kick. Sheamus took him into the ring and followed the another Brogue Kick for the cover, 1,2,3 and won the match.
Winner : Sheamus, victory followed by pinfall
John Morrison and The Miz were backstage talking about their matchup, Otis also joined them to have the warning for them, Mandy explained to them if, they win tonight then Otis is gonna cash-in and you would no longer be the champion.
We took up of the video from the way Becky Lynch left her title to Asuka and were soon challenged by Nia Jax.
Raw Women's Championship match
Nia Jax Vs. Asuka(c)
We went back into the ring with Nia Jax walking into the ring to have her matchup against Asuka, She entered the ring. Asuka also followed the way to the ring.
The bail rang, Nia for the shot but Asuka would duck for the attack from behind, it went for a little as Jaz landed a big right hand, she went some shots, Asuka with a submission lock on Nia but Jax wold make it failure dropping her through the ring, Nia tossed Asuka on the ring, and beating her up onto the ground, Nia with big Slam for the cover, 1, 2...she kicked out. Nia Jax with Spine Buster for the cover but could not snatch the victory Nia with some shots on Asuka and had a tight grip, Asuka turned into a clutch, Nia Jax broke the clutch and had a massive drope.
Asusa fired back with back to back moves, she went onto the top rope for and took down Nia, She went for hip attack, for the cover but kicked out at two, Asuka looked to make another move but Nia with grip and launched her for the Powerslam for the cover, 1, 2...kicked out. Now Asuka back into the match and sent her out of the ring, Asuka followed the Asuka Lockout of the ring.
Nia Jax was able to break the lock, they brawl out of the ring as we went for the referee counts. He called out the match with Asuka as the Double Count-out winner.
Winner : Asuka, victory followed by Double Count-out.
After the match, Asuka did stop her as she launched herself on Nia with a Hip Attack to take her down.
Cole hyped the next match for Universal Championship match between Braun Strowman(c) Vs. John Morrison & The Miz.

We went back into the ring with The and Morrison walking down into the ring to pick their match against Braun. They led us to their new pay-Per-View song Hey Hey Hoh Hoh!!!. The champion Strowman entered the ring making the interruption in their music. The Miz and Braun started the things off, The Miz with a tag and let Morrison come in, Miz with an attack from behind, they went back and forth on Braun, Morrison top rope but Strowman caught him for the drop, Morrison with a tag to The Miz, he landed some shots but those for a while as Braun started to make the offense, Morrison followed the interruption but Strowman would send him back taking along with The Miz,
Morrison once again followed the interruption with a superkick to take down Braun, The Miz sent him out of the ring as Morrison launched a Suicide Dive sending back to the barricade, They came back into the ring and followed the double-drop on Braun but he kicked out at two.jThey went back and forth with Braun. The Miz with his move, Morrison with a drop from behind, Morrison went for the cover, but The Miz broke the cover, now they looked shocked each others. Meanwhile, Braun would take the advantage and had the Powerslam to Miz, we saw Morrison from the top rope but Braun with a big hand and took The Miz out of the ring. In the ring, Braun would land another Powerslam on Morrison to win the match.
Winner : Braun Strowman(c), victory followed by pinfall
AJ Styles joined backstage for the interview, AJ Styles put the official invitation for everyone capable to challenge him.
We were on the hype for Drew McIntyre versus Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship match.
WWE Championship match
Drew McIntyre(c) Vs. Bobby Lashley
Back into the ring Bobby Lashley with MVP walking down into the ring to pick the match against Drew McIntyre. They entered the ring. The Music hit and we welcomed Drew McIntyre into the ring.
Suddenly, Bobby Lashley with the clutch on Drew McIntyre before starting off the match. The referees came back into the to make them apart, and finally, they did so. The Bail rang and Bobby with an offensive move. Bobby ran rough on Drew McIntyre. Bobby looked to have the knee strick but Drew would duck it. Drew with some shots but went for a while as Bobby landed some shots. Bobby stood tall into the ring. Bobby with humiliattion to Drew crashing his leg on Drew. THis would leave Drew for the savage as Drew Sent him out of the ring, Drew sent him through the barricade, Drew faced MVP, Bobby with the advantage and sent him into the ground and then lauched him into the ring post.
Bobby followed the running drop, Drew made the save as Bobby launched himself into the barricade. hey were back into the ring as Drew were running rough on Bobby Lashley, Drew with Spine Buster to Bobby and went for the cover but kicked out at two. Suddenly, Bobby Lahley caught Drew for the Spine Buster for the cover, but Drew with shocking breakout at one. Bobby had the back to back Spine Buster this time too he had the quick breakout.
They fought at the top of the ring, Drew had Booby on his shoulder but Bobby was still hanging through the ring post. Drew McIntyre went for the move but Lashley Armlock, Drew broke it up, now Drew Drew with an Armlock, Bobby broke the lock touching the bottom rope, Now, Drew took him atop to the ring and sent him through the ring.
Drew looked to have Claymore Kick but Bobby Lashley turned it into the Spear for the cover, 1, 2, and kicked out at two. Lana walked through the ring, she was at the apron as Bobby reproached her to go out. Drew McIntyre took the advantage and landed the kick to Bobby which hit Lana launching herself onto MVP. Drew with Claymore Kick to win the match.

Cole went to hype the next match between the street profits Vs. The Viking Raiders. They were fighting into the parking lot where Montez Ford sent Erick into the car of Braun Strowman. Angelo Dawkins exclaimed on it and said them to get out of here otherwise, Braun would take them up, they left off the parking lot. and fought through the Performance Center.
They once again met up with the weapons they had carried during the match. Angelo Dawkins launched himself on Ivar crashing the door glass. Now, they were together in the open area were they faced a bunch of men with motorcycles. A man followed the confrontation with them. The man was Akhira Tozawa who threatened.
THe Viking Raider and The Street Profits forged the plane to beat them up. Akhira had the call to stand along with his men. The Viking Raider and The Street Profits had the intense brawl but THe Viking Raider and The Street Profits beat them black and blue. Now, they faced Tozawa once again who had another man looking to have six to seven-feet hight.
Ivar wanted to face that man but he had a sword in his hand. THe Viking Raider and The Street Profits left from there. Now, they fought off up on the truck whereby, Erick and Montez Ford sent themselves into the trash box.
Ivar also sent Angelo Dawkins into the dustbin. Jessica the referee of the match made them aware of their match.
We went back to Tom, Byron and Joe. Tom confirms that there will be no RAW Tag Team Titles match tonight due to what just happened.
Greatest Wrestling match Evere
Edge Vs. Randy Orton
We went back into the ring with Randy Orton into the ring to face off Edge, Randy entered the ring. Edge followed the entrance.
They both were introduced by MSG as it screened there. The referee explained to them about the rules. The bail rang, Randy Orton stomped Edge into the ring. They back again with a hand lock, they both went for the arm drop. Back to normal, Edge took down Randy in the lock, now Randy with the lock around the neck of Edge, He tried to get out of it, and he made it finally, Randy was trying to be quicker then Edge. Edge tried to slow down the momentum with a grip, Edge himself sent out of the ring as Randy waited him in. Edge at the apron and back into the ring.
Randy with some shots and tried to send him through the turnbuckle but Edge would make his way out of the ring, Edge launched Randy Orton into the ring post and got him back into the ring. Edge with Armbreaker on Randy Orton, Edge continued to cause punishment on Randy with the grip he was carrying.
THe match was getting intense as both the superstars were putting everything they had. A Stomp by Randy Orton at the left leg of Edge, Randy took him into the other turnbuckle but this time Edge would send him out of the ring, Edge climbed at the top of the turnbuckle, Randy Orton did not let this happen as he too made his way atop to the ring, Edge sent him through the apron and launched a headbutt to Randy Orton, we saw Randy Orton started bleeding from the head. Edge continued to cause Randy Orton black and blue, Edge with a submission move. Randy Orton crawled to touch the bottom rope to break the hold. Now, Randy looked for the RKO but Randy save it.
Randy Orton with Neckbreaker to Edge and sent him out of the ring, Randy Orton ran rough on Edge sent him through the barricade, Commentary box and to the stairs, Randy Orton assaulted Edge on the commentary box. Randy Orton had something to say Edge as he said it in his ear. Randy made Edge into the ring for the cover, 1, 2...kicked out.
Randy Orton then continued to make the harm with some shots and then with Amrlock, Edge somehow back on his feet for a shot but did not let this have the end as Randy Orton once again back in the fight, Randy Orton with back to back Backdrop, Randy went for another Backdrop but this time Edge caught him to have the save Backdrops. They with the exchanges on chief shots while in the squat position.
Randy Orton with big Drope to send Edge tossing through the ring rope, Randy Orton sent Edge into the ring post, Randy brought Edge atop the ring post. Randy caught him from behind and had a Superplex on the ring. Randy went for the cover but kicked out at two.
Both the superstars with Upper body right into the mid-air. Edge connected with the kick to Randy, he followed the immediate top turnbuckle. Randy Orton tried to have DDT but Edge with a shocking move to take down Randy. Edge barley turned Randy for the cover, 1, 2...kicked out making everyone shocked. Edge with another Crossbody for the cover, once again Randy Orton kicked out leaving everyone shocked. Randy with sudden flip but Edge right after Edge would have submission move. Randy somehow got out of it and had Olympic Slam for the cover, Edge kicked out at two.
Edge with Powerbomb following the cover but could get the victory. Randy Orton dumped Edge out of the ring, Edge crawled back into the ring. Randy Orton caught Edge for DDT. Randy prepared for RKO to have landed on Edge but Edge denied it with having a backbreaker. Edge was measuring The Viper fo r the move, Randy tried to have RKO but Soon Edge would make his move for the cover, OMG!! Randy Orton kicked out.
The match went ultimate when Randy Orton drove Edge with Pedigree but Edge still was able to kick out. Randy Orton looked to have another movie, but instead got from Edge for the cover, 1, 2...kicked out. Backflip by Edge, Randy made the save with a massive Uppercut.
Randy for the DDT but could not connect this, Randy Orton, with RKO 1,2....another kick out from Edge. A nailbiting match between both the superstars. Randy Orton staring at Edge and looked to have the move but Edge would respond Randy with a Spear, Edge went for the another Spear for the cover but kicked out at two.
Randy Orton ducked the another move from Edge and had launched RKO but could not believe that Edge kicked out. Now, Edge with sudden Submission. This time Randy got out of it and had a massive kick to win the match.
