WWE Payback (2020), WWE Network event produced by WWE for their Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. Tonight's WWE Payback 2020 event is coming to you live from Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It will be the sixth event in the Payback chronology and the first since 2017.

WWE has announced the moving of SmackDown and Raw to the much-speculated location The Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida. This location will also include WWE's further to be held Pay-Per-View events including SummerSlam and Payback which are set air this month. According to the reports WWE has come out with a huge agreement with Amway Center through Oct. 30 with no fans present in the building. No live fans through October, but WWE gets arena access for all events through then.

On the August 14 episode of SmackDown, WWE revealed that Bayley and Sasha Banks would defend the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at Payback 2020. Their opponents Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were revealed on the August 24 episode of Raw.

At SummerSlam 2020 on August 23, 2020, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt defeated Braun Strowman to win the Universal Championship for the second time. Following the match, Roman Reigns made his return and viciously attacked The Fiend and Strowman. On the August 24 episode of Raw, it was announced that The Fiend would defend the title against Strowman and Reigns in a Triple Threat No Holds Barred match at Payback 2020.

Last week at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins defeated Dominik Mysterio in a Street Fight. Next day on Raw, Rey Mysterio and Dominik defeated Rollins and Murphy by disqualification when Retribution attacked the Mysterio. A rematch between the two teams was scheduled for Payback
