A battle to determine the true identity of The Undertaker takes place in one of the most unique main events in SummerSlam history.
SummerSlam (1994) was headlined with a match between the real Undertaker (portrayed by Mark Calaway) and an impostor Undertaker (portrayed by Brian Lee). The real Undertaker won the match, and according to the rules the impostor character of The Undertaker did not appear in the WWF again.
The storyline for Undertaker Vs. Undertaker kicked off when The Undertaker lost a Casket match to Yokozuna at the 1994 Royal Rumble, The Undertaker did not appear in the WWF for several months. According to the report he was given time off to allow a back injury to heal.
The WWF portended his return by displaying videos of people who claimed to have seen The Undertaker. Eventually, DiBiase, who introduced The Undertaker to the WWF in 1990, claimed to have brought The Undertaker back to the WWF.
But Paul Bearer informed him that DiBiase’s Undertaker was an impostor and that Bearer had located the true Undertaker. This led to a match at SummerSlam pitting the two Undertakers against each other.
Bearer's Undertaker performed two Tombstone piledrivers before getting the pinfall victory. The real Undertaker won the match, and according to the rules the impostor character of The Undertaker did not appear in the WWF again
